Mavic 2 pro (w/ Smart Controller) not compatible with Drone Deploy?

I purchased the Mavic 2 pro (w/ smart controller) and When i try to use the drone deploy app on the smart controller it loads 2 startup screens and then doesn’t allow me to use the app. I’ve tried downloading the .apk files for the app, and also downloading the google play store to download the app and nothing works. Really need this to work, DJI won’t let me replace for a regular controller. any tips or am i going about the issue the wrong way?

Thank you,

Have you tried Pix4D? From what I have seen the Smart Controller is not compatible because of its OS build.

I also found out the hard way that Drone Deploy app is not supported on the Smart Controller which now sits in a drawer. I ended up finding a regular controller on Ebay and found some connectors on Amazon so I could use a tablet.

You can use DJI’s Pilot App on the smart controller to plan and execute mapping missions and then manually upload the photos taken during the mission to DroneDeploy.
Hope this helps.

If i we’re to buy a regular controller would it connect to my M2P seamlessly? Just wanted to make sure before I purchase anything eles, unfortunately DJI doesn’t sell them so i’d have to go to Ebay like you did or cragslist.

Thanks for your input!

It would work completely normally.
You would just have to link the new controller to the drone.
That takes a minute.
Do a word search of the Mavic 2 manual for the word “link” to see how to do that.

Yes it will be seamless. I turned on the remote then set the drone to sync so it would connect. There are not any version issues on the M2P like the Autel Evo 2.
