The new version of the DroneDeploy mobile app is out and available for iOS and Android. This is a very important update which includes a lot of new capabilities (including some a lot of you have been asking for!), so please read to the bottom.
Important: DJI is deprecating their current SDK on July 1, and this version is the first version of the DroneDeploy app to use the new DJI SDK 4.0. This means that you must update your DroneDeploy app to version 2.0.47 or later to be able to fly after July 1. If you do not have auto-update on, you will need to manually update by going to the App Store or Google Play to update.
But that’s not the only change. You can now search and filter apps in the DroneDeploy App Market, and even leave reviews.
We’ve also made several updates intended to improve flight reliability, including:
- Google Maps automatically enabled for all iOS devices, offering better base maps and a snappier interface (this fixes the zoom issue many of you have reported)
- Improved support for the DJI Zenmuse X5S camera
- Fixes for gimbal issues with Phantom 4 Pro, Mavic and Inspire 2
- Warnings about incompatible DJI flight settings
