does anyone know if you are automatically signed out of your account on one device when you sign in on a different device?

You would think so, but I have logged in on multiple mobile devices before as well as Chrome.
I’ve been logged-in on my laptop, my Android Phone or Tablet and my Iphone all at the same time.
It would suck if the website logged you out because you really need to be logged into with two devices to make sure you are getting the project downloaded / updated on your phone (and make sure you haven’t reached the off-line project limit of 10).
Please don’t change this.
