[SOLVED] Camera pre-check fails if photo angle set to -90

Hi all; it’s been a while! I’m still grinding away, and still haven’t quit my day job. sigh

Anyway…

Earlier today I created a simple map plan of a 20 acre site by importing a KLM I downloaded from a client. I set the plan up as follows: height 390’ (client requested that height), Automatic Settings (75% front overlap, 65% side overlap), crosshatch, planning camera Mavic 2 Pro.

I started the flight and noticed the camera angle was -65; oops! How’d I miss that? I had to land to change the map plan, so after landing I got into the plan, advanced settings, set the camera angle to -90, powered up the M2P, started the pre-check, and…it got to the Camera, spun for a while, then failed with a message saying “Camera cannot connect, please wait a minute and try again.” The camera vew didn’t show up on the map screen either.

??

I powered off the m2p and powered it back up; same thing. Changed to a fresh battery, same thing. Changed the angle to -89, -87; same thing.

Got back into the flight plan and re-set the angle to “automatic”, powered up the m2p, and the camera worked just fine. I flew the flight and got the shots, but at -65 camera angle. I don’t know if they’re going to be useful to the client. Well see once I upload them tonight.

Oh; I’m using a 9th gen iPad, if that makes a difference. All the latest updates to both iOS and the DD app.

Anybody know why this happened, and how I can fix it to get true “straight down” (-90) shots?

Thanks!

Well…I figured it out. If I go into Advanced Settings and uncheck “Crosshatch” I get the -90 camera angle.
