It has been 7 years and we can’t import gps coordinates markers to the maps, that is a very useful feature that we also need to have, what is the point of having a geo map without the ability to mark geo locations. we don’t use gas leaks but if I can import point measurements, why not a simple marker?
I agree, this has been a mass request for as long as I have been around. Have you tried importing a DXF? I partially understand why this hasn’t had much movement, because it is a pretty simple workflow in keeping with industry methods of managing points, linework and annotations. These types of elements typically come from data collection in the field and/or CAD so it is pretty easy to create a DXF or PDF of that content. Personally I am not a fan of managing a large amount of annotation layers in density so have a single drawing containing all of the elements or a few drawings broken into later not only makes management on DroneDeploy easier, but is also in keeping with how files are typically managed and you have more control of colors and shapes. The offerings on the site are pretty dry.
The ability to import a CSV of the points would be a big win though, particularly coming straight out of a data collector. Most modern data collectors have web connectivity so how cool would it be to shoot in some points and immediately get them in the cloud for others to see? There again though most modern data collectors are capable of dealing with DWG/DXF formats.
Hi @AIR1 @MichaelL we have a fairly new thing with DroneDeploy which we call “Customer Appreciation” where they focus on the most requested or most needed features and Engineering dedicates resources to building out those features. There is a list that these features are picked from and I will be sure to add this to that list and create some much needed awareness to it.
