GCP Ground Control Points - Req's Enterprise?

I’m testing DroneDeploy versus a few alternatives for construction/survey sites.

In our field GCP’s are crucial. I attempted to setup GCP’s in DroneDeploy by following the online help/video and the option doesn’t exist as shown.

Upon further research, it appears this requires an “Enterprise” subscription, or a $49 fee per project. Is my understanding correct?

Thank you.

Correct. Gcps are either a $49 per project charge on business or unlimited with enterprise.

Thank you.

Do you have any idea how to add the $49 GCP ala-carte option when in trial-mode?

You’d have to contact support@dronedeploy.com and they should be be able to get you hooked up.

When I was trialling Business, the ability to use GCPs just worked without having to pay or toggle anything, although it was a while ago, so maybe things have changed.

I do think it is crap that as Business customer you still have to pay for GCPs. I understand a potential cap per month but a Business user will nearly always need GCPs.

@Joe_McBrien - That’s precisely how I felt. GCP’s are not exotic or rare; they’re a fundamental of any usage beyond hobbyist. Even the “Pro” level subscription would require GCP’s by definition of a “Pro”.

At $449/month (or $3588/paid annually) for “Business” level, it was a big shock that GCP’s weren’t included.

Thank you for the posts above offering insight into this.

I don’t know of another high-end software that charges extra for GCP’s. I guess there’s just some things we are not meant to understand.

Pix4d certainly make the perpetual license look appealing if you are doing this in the long term

Keep in mind though that is only Pix4D Mapper, not the Cloud so you will need higher end local hardware for processing and can probably only do one at a time.
