Export JPG Maps with Annotations

Bringing this back up after the last request a few years ago here.

Been using DroneDeploy for a few years in the solar industry. As our sites get larger and larger the map on the annotation reports is becoming less and less useful. We are also expanding drone mapping with our new parent company which operates many 1000+ acre facilities. I’m aware that the annotations can be exported and a map can be created in qgis but we are trying to make this more accessible without having to increase training.

There are 2 issues we have with the annotation report. First, the numbered markers often cover up the areas called out on larger maps. When maps are 100+ acres, the markers can cover an acre or more. second, there is no way to ensure the map takes up enough of the page to make it useful in the field. We would be happy to see a full 11x17 sheet with distinguishable areas that can be distributed to operators and SWPPP remediation crews to follow.

The optimal solution would be an option to add the annotations to the .jpg map but having more control over the map on the annotation report would be great too.

Hi there,

Thanks for writing into our forum. We hear you on the request for annotations on JPG, and I’m happy to pass this feature request onto the Product Team as they consider enhancements for future iterations of DroneDeploy.

Today, you might be able to accomplish something similar by combining the GeoJSON and the GeoTIFF in a free software like QGIS.

We also offer the Annotation Report (Example)
