Hi,
Im a small/medium sized drone business looking into the Enterprise plan and how to model a business plan on it. Im currently on Advanced.
Correct me if I’m wrong however I believe once you’re on the Enterprise plan, to add a client to a project (to allow full access etc) is an extra £1000/y - on top of what you’re already paying for the Enterprise base price.
Can I ask how are people on the Enterprise plans recouping these costs from clients. Do you add it as an extra line or do you incorporate it into a daily rate. Obviously if you’re only mapping once or twice a year for them adding another $1000 to just two days work will most likely scare them off. Also if your only working with a client for 6 months do you just charge/work in an additional $500, rather than $1000.
I like the idea of giving clients different price plans to choose from; do they just want a view-only link/do they need exported deliverables/do they need full access.
However I can’t see this additional $1000 cost would ever work if a client only wanted to map once a year, but still have the option to compare/measure the maps. I think they would run a mile if I charge them a days worth of mapping and then said it would be an extra $1000 to add in the extra features for them to compare next years map.
It seems like to me the Enterprise plan and what it offers only works if you have clients that have signed up to multiple flights a year - therefore being able to afford the extra $1000/y. To me it doesn’t really work/is off putting for smaller clients that need one or two maps a year.
Thanks. Chris
Enterprise includes unlimited users. Just like any other business there’s overhead. This is one of those things that you’re going to have to budget for regardless of which cloud solution you choose. Most use cases that I have come across are too small for a full solution like DroneDeploy and honestly would not benefit all that much from it. In my experience clients are either not the type of people that use digital design information and do well with 360 panos and a simple map and contours and/or overlays. Overlay PDF’s are easy to make and even easier for the client to view. Then you have customers that utilize the point clouds and orthos. These types of customers use the data internally in other systems. DroneDeploy is built for larger organizations with high volume that need a more integrated all-in-one platform with standards and security for access.
Thanks.
Yes I’m getting to see that the Enterprise model and all it offers really is for much much bigger organisations. It’s just a shame the lower tiers don’t allow the compare feature in view-only mode, after all you’re still only ‘viewing’ them. Would be so useful for my smaller clients. As you said offering a separate pdf overlay deliverable is a work around.
Can I ask - you say that the Enterprise plan offers unlimited users. Am I correct in saying though that you still need to pay an additional $1000/y for each unique client/user you give access to a project? I get it that’s it’s unlimited users but do you still need to pay for each one?
Did you see that in documentation? The Project plan “comes with” unlimited users and the Enterprise contains all the functionality of Project plus all the enterprise integrations and connectors. There should not be any reason to pay for additional user access.
The additional $1000/y (or thereabouts) was mentioned by an account executive and in emails to me. They went on to say that if a client doesn’t need access to the project before the year is up then you can switch it to a new client/analyst until the year finishes.
Sounds like I need to reach back out to them if you’re saying you’ve never heard of this additional cost.
