Drone Crashed and now it only wants to Restart Mission

One of my Phanton 4 V2 Pro drones fell out of the sky this fall for an unknow reasons and now when I enter that Project (which has a dozen other submissions) the DD software on my tablet only has a button that says “Continue Mission”. I can’t find anyway to delete or cancel this mission. I want to save all the other mission flight plans/patterns in the project.

I’ve logged into DD with my laptop and delete the mission from the project that was being flown when the drone crashed but DD on my tablet still hangs on the crashed/failed mission. The mission was flown in another state so if I “Continue” the mission my drone might just try to fly away on me.

Is there anyway to cancel/kill this hung mission without loosing the other missions in the project?

Hi @thegoldbug, I’m so sorry to hear about the drone crash! Please contact us at Support@dronedeploy.com if you’d like us to run a full investigation on the crash.
Otherwise, deleting and re-installing the DroneDeploy app to your tablet will be your best option to remove the “Continue Mission” button.
As a note, this button won’t start the flight it will simply bring you back to the flight plan settings.

I just went outside in my small backyard and tested one of my drones and controllers and setup a mapping mission of my yard. DD ran fine on my IPAD, it ran thru the checks, told me I needed to calibrate the compass which I did and then completed all the preflight checks and allowed me to laucnh the drone in GPS mode. To my shock. I did a RTH and then Reset the mission and tried again. It worked flawlessly this time.

I’ve no idea why DD did not complete the preflight checks when I was out in the desert (field).

I’m researching and reading this site.

I took two of my P4Pv2 drones out into the field yesterday and was able to get around the continue mission problem but I encountered another problem.

Drone Deploy would not complete the preflight check. When I clicked on the perform preflight check in the lower right hand of the screen on my IPAD (IOS 18.3 - just updated) the screen changed and showed a Google Earth view with a blue dot for my location and another marker for location of the drone. The flight plan gridlines vanished and so did all of the other “menus”. I clicked and dragged everywhere on the tablet but could not get DD menus to return.

I rebooted IPAD several times, power cycled, started DJI and shut down, etc and I tried this on/with both my drones and both controllers.

I could fly the drone manually DD would not launch.

I have a sneaky suspicion that it might have to do with Remote ID. On my recently acquired P4Pv2 drone there is a RED inverted triangle (which should indicate an error) that says something like Remote ID is normal.

Honestly, I’m not even sure I have Remote ID entered/setup correctly.

The version of DD on my IPAD has a lot more project settings that I remember, do I need to fill some of those out to get it to fly my mission?

PS. I’ve replied to the emails you sent me concerning the drone crash but haven’t heard back from you.
