deviation of 3D map up to 25 m

Hello, I have a question - can Drone Deploy have any deviation in creating a 3D model? When mapping the old castle, the resulting model had a deviation of up to 25 m and now we are thinking where the problem arose.

Drone: DJI Inspire 1
software for scanning: DJI GS PRO

Thank you for your response.

Hi @Lukas_Uchytil,

Thanks for swinging by the Forum with your question! In general, you can expect to see some elevation discrepancies and inaccuracies with your 2D map and 3D model. There are several factors at play, such as the type of drone you’re flying with, the camera specs, your altitude and overlap parameters, etc. You can check out the factors affecting your model on our Accuracy guide.

One thing to note is that the drone’s GPS is not highly accurate so we typically recommend adding Ground Control Points. It’s a great way to correct the discrepancy you see on your map. I hope this information is helpful to you!

Cheers,
Stephanie
