DD not completing PreFlight Check list

I took two of my P4Pv2 drones out into the field yesterday and was able to get around the continue mission problem but I encountered another problem.

Drone Deploy would not complete the preflight check. When I clicked on the perform preflight check in the lower right hand of the screen on my IPAD (IOS 18.3 - just updated) the screen changed and showed a Google Earth view with a blue dot for my location and another marker for location of the drone. The flight plan gridlines vanished and so did all of the other “menus”. I clicked and dragged everywhere on the tablet but could not get DD menus to return.

I rebooted IPAD several times, power cycled, started DJI and shut down, etc and I tried this on/with both my drones and both controllers.

I could fly the drone manually DD would not launch.

I have a sneaky suspicion that it might have to do with Remote ID. On my recently acquired P4Pv2 drone there is a RED inverted triangle (which should indicate an error) that says something like Remote ID is normal.

Honestly, I’m not even sure I have Remote ID entered/setup correctly.

The version of DD on my IPAD has a lot more project settings that I remember, do I need to fill some of those out to get it to fly my mission?

I just upgraded my 8th generation IPAD from 18.3 to 18.3.1 and tried Drone Depoly again.

Same issue where it hangs on the Projects page, won’t allow user input/selection and DD reboots itself back to the projects page.

I just started up Drone Depoly on my IPAD here at home today and it has the same issues, it just hangs on the page where it shows the projects. Closing it and restarting doesn’t help so that should indicate it has nothing to do with a lack of internet/wifi connectivity.

Okay, so I don’t think that had anything to do with the Remote ID now.

Yesterday (3 hours from my home) I setup to fly two different areas/misisons stored in the same project folder in DD.

The first mission of the day used 6 batteries and everything went smoothly, not glitches. I packed up all my gear and moved about 4 miles to a new location. I unpacked and setup my gear and Drone Deploy on my IPAD tablet (IOS 18.3) would startup and show me the projects screen but would not let me choose a project or allow anyother softkey on the screen to be pressed. The projects screen would remain displayed for a minute or so and then Drone Depoly would reboot/restart and show the projects screen again. I cycled the power on the drone, the controller, the IPAD multiple times, restarted and restarted, I fly the drone manually but I Drone Depoly would not let me choose a project.

I just don’t understand how it could work at one location and not the next. Note, I’m not connected to any wifi or celluar network when I’m out in the desert and most of the times there is no celluar reception anyway.

After testing again to day I decided to unistall the Drone Deploy “Flight” app from my IPAD. After reinstalling the app appears to be operating properly but I won’t know until I go out in the field and try it.
