Creating a topographical map

Wasn’t sure where to post this question, but I am struggling to create a contour map of a 5 acre block I own to give to my building designer. When I mapped the block I tried to find a way to do a cross-hatched mapping run but couldn’t find it (IOS Beta). So I did one mapping run lengthways and another diagonally. I got two sets of about 100 images. I tried to upload all of them for a single map, but it failed. So I uploaded the first set (49 images) which produced a map (https://www.dronedeploy.com/app/data?planId=567efb88dd322720e9874174 or https://sketchfab.com/models/31ff541f9f2f47c2abe89bfb72f3f7d3) which gives weird results and nothing like a topographical option where I can see the contours of my land.

I’d like to have uploaded an image of what I’m getting, but as a new user I’m not allowed to. So I’ve put a screenshot here http://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/865843/ec5080377881ca30d02669af10646cec

any luck with this yet?

@KarlAlexander
What is your specific question? A lot has changed since the original December 2015 post…

You may need to use a 3rd party GIS software to create the contour overlays. I’ve had success with the free QGIS on MacOS - https://support.dronesmadeeasy.com/hc/en-us/articles/217759823-Using-QGIS-to-make-custom-Contour-Maps

Have you had any luck?

@dragonflyAS - sorry, I typed ahead of my research #noob :slight_smile:

@KarlAlexander
No worries :slight_smile: I have been the victim of the #noob hashtag more times then I could count.
