Yep, building inspection is going to be a hot topic in the near future. Notice that a 2D Inspection Tool is now available? Try Microsoft ICE if you just want a hi-res stitched image.
This is still not available correct ? This would be game changer.
I demo’d their Enterprise license recently. It has a very slick building facade inspection tool. However there’s no way to export an orthomosaic of the building facade. A major oversight given the exorbitant cost of the license.

I have stitched facade images in Microsoft ICE before. Make sure the camera is pointed as perpendicular to the face as possible. Panoramic spheres can also be very handy for facade inspections because sometimes you can see things at an angle that you don’t necessarily notice head on.
Microsoft ICE is now retired software from Microsoft. Any other image software you know of?
I can PM you a link to download ICE. PTGui is another good one. Most pano stitchers have a mode to do flat stitching as well.
