White Screen after install and connection to DD

Hallo!

I already used DroneDeploy on a Huawei Tablet - but the negative effect was that this tablet wasn’t good enought for the live picture of the Phantom 4 so I bought a Nexus 7 (2013). After the successfull installation of the App these nice intro-slides were shown. After the Symbol of DD was shown with the “Connection to DroneDeploy” text. After this only a full white screen appeared. Since then always when I’m starting DD the Connection Text and after only the white Screen is happing but even waiting for several times doesn’t bring me to the App (not even to the Login…). The Android System is 6.0.1

What Can I do to use the App? (on the Huawei Tablet everything went fine with capturing beside of the live pictures…)

Alex

Hi @Askander,

Sorry to hear that- could you please uninstall and reinstall the app, then try the troubleshooting steps outlined here and let us know if that makes a difference? Apologies for the inconvenience.

Thanks,

HI,

I have exactly the same problem. Using Phantom 4 and Nexus 7 (6.0.1 last version available for this hardware). White screen after DD logo, no logging screen , nothing even if disconnected from the remote & phantom.
Just for information, I confirm that DJI GO closed confirm. Usb switch to DD Ok like when i tried with other apps like pix4d to dji go to pix4d or DD. But DD open only a white screen after DD Logo.

Problem open since Sept…do you have a solution to run DD…
Please do the necessary job as Nexus 7 is one of the best tablett & phantom 4 is amazing

Thanks for the great bug report. We’ve been investigating this but this might help narrow it down.

I have another 2 android devices. One on 6.0.1 and the other on 7.1.2 which do work as intended. I could paste their LogCat if it’s useful.

I uninstalled the previous version and installed the updated one, still white screen.

Updated version works on other devices.

Hi @royeiror,

We’re still investigating this issue but thanks for sharing your log with us.

Cheers,
Christina

Thank you Christina. I’ll pay attention to any answers

Hello Christina, I was wondering if you guys happened to have a repository with old Android Versions, that way I would be able to test which work and which don’t pinpointing the version jump which breaks compatibility.

Hi @royeiror,

We currently don’t have any older versions available to share.

Cheers,
Christina

Hi, I have found the solution to this issue

so first you go to https://apkbog.com/en/apk/dronedeploy/2.61.0 where you find the version of Drone Deploy that works on your device. You log in as normal and then when you simply go to the play store and update Drone Deploy to the latest version.
I’m confident it will work for anybody with this issue.

P.S. I have lenovo tab 2 A10-70 and the 2.55.3 version worked for my device.

@royeiror can you try this and let me know if it works for you?

After further investigation and testing it seems like the drone deploy app is ok and even the latest version of DD will work fine. The issue is most likely application called Android System WebView, if it is not updated it will prevent the log-in screen appearing after you launch DD app. So the solution is easy in the end  just update the Android System WebView app.

I hope this will solve the problem for you.

I installed 2.55.3, and then 2.61.0 over it and it works now.

Updating the Android System WebView app worked for me and my Invidia Shield tablet.

I have the same issue. Its fixed now!

My problem was that I didnt have Android System Webviewer Enabled or updated. After enabling it and letting it update, I reopened the app and it works!

Hope this helps and clarifies.
